Location: Bedfordshire

Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert dispensing services, including frame selection, lens recommendations, and fitting adjustments.
- Interpret prescriptions accurately and advise patients on suitable lens types, coatings, and frame options.
- Conduct precise measurements such as PDs, segment heights, and frame adjustments.
- Support Optometrists by preparing patients, managing handovers, and ensuring smooth clinical flow.
- Maintain excellent product knowledge across frames, lenses, coatings, and optical technologies.
- Process orders accurately using practice management systems and liaise with labs where required.
- Handle repairs, adjustments, and aftercare services with a high level of technical skill.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring every patient receives a personalised and professional experience.
- Uphold GOC, NHS, and company standards for compliance, record‑keeping, and patient confidentiality.
- Contribute to retail performance through product recommendations, merchandising, and supporting sales targets
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Optical Dispenser or Optical Assistant with dispensing responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of optical products, lens technologies, and frame materials.
- Confident in interpreting prescriptions and providing tailored recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and order processing.
- Professional, patient‑centred approach with a commitment to outstanding service.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and supporting a collaborative team.
- IT‑literate with experience using optical or retail management systems.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Optical Assistant / Optical Retail qualification (desirable).
- ABDO Optical Dispensing qualification (advantageous but not essential).
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Ongoing CPD or product training in lenses, frames, or optical technology is beneficial.
