Key Responsibilities
- Champion student wellbeing, encouraging positive behaviours and attitudes toward learning
- Promote excellent levels of attendance, punctuality, and performance
- Collaborate closely with teaching staff, parents/guardians, and external professionals (CAMHS, TaMHS, SMASH, Healthcare Specialists, The Police and Local Authorities) to deliver cohesive support strategies
- Liaise and work effectively with vulnerable students with SEN and PPG, including school professionals involved in the education of said students, plus other internal departments to ensure inclusive and responsive care and wellbeing
- Maintain and uphold school quality procedures and safeguarding protocols
- Provide high-quality verbal and written communication, including telephone liaison and professional documentation
- Deliver accurate and compliant administrative support using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Contribute to the development of a strong community ethos and inclusive school culture
Essential:
- Educated to GCSE A-C Level in Maths and English
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a mainstream educational environment
- Proven track record supporting students aged 11–16
- Relevant child-related qualifications (e.g., Level 3 in Childcare, Youth Work, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, pastoral care, and emotional wellbeing
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience liaising with external agencies and professional bodies
- Familiarity with SEN processes and inclusive education practices
- Knowledge of school attendance frameworks and behavioural support strategies
