French-Speaking Remote Electrical Field Engineer

Location: UK and International Travel (Remote)

Salary: £32,000 Basic – Potential to earn £43,000 (inclusive of expenses)

This global supplier of telecommunications equipment seeks a remote French-speaking Field Engineer, delivering hands-on installation support, including the training of on-site contractors, and customer account management across international end-to-end installation projects. The ideal candidate will have previous experience from either an electrical power/energy or military background, someone who has knowledge of the cabling or telecoms sectors.  This role offers international exposure, technical challenge, and the opportunity to shape safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible installations. Extensive UK and International travel are expected in this role, therefore candidates must be prepared to be away from home between 4–6-week intervals, working in remote/challenging conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver installation training and technical support on all installation sites
  • Manage turnkey site operations and subcontractor activities to ensure timely, on-budget delivery
  • Deliver onsite training for the installing of cabling onto overhead power lines, working at height to CDM regulations
  • Conduct customer site surveys, conduct on-site risk assessments and produce method statements and relevant documentation
  • Promote and uphold health, safety, and environmental standards across all customer sites
  • Liaise daily with Project Managers and Engineers to report progress, resolve issues, and share insights
  • Represent the company professionally with customers and contractors on-site
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Fluent in French and English (written and spoken)
  • Previous supervisory and training experience within the same sector
  • Ability to work at height and operate ‘at height’ appropriate equipment, which must be selected, inspected, and maintained at all times
  • Managing subcontractors across varied cultural and operational contexts
  • Confident working in varied/remote/weather conditions and environments
  • Able to work independently, manage pressure, and solve problems proactively
  • Professional appearance and conduct for customer-facing interactions
  • Methodical, organised, and detail-oriented
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Willingness to travel internationally for periods of 4–6 weeks
  • Proven experience in supervision, team leadership, and training delivery
  • Full EU passport (or unrestricted travel passport) and full driving licence
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with UK CDM regulations
  • Mechanical maintenance experience
  • Understanding of ISO14001 environmental standards
  • Experience with MS Projects
  • Background in power line work, armed forces, or remote overseas operations
Operating Environment
  • Field-based role involving work at height and international travel
